The Dow Jones industrial average surged 220 points in afternoon trading Friday, climbing past 35,000 as the blue-chip index rebounded from Monday’s 725-point slide with a four-day winning streak. The S&P 500 edged nearly 1 percent higher, to 4,410, and is up nearly 2 percent for the week. Both indexes are on track for new all-time highs.
